  3.   HISTORY:
  4.   
  5.   This program is a quick and simple program launcher/system shutdown
  6. utility.  I was preparing to hand in one of my labs, in which i had to
  7. use their @#$#@!$ IBMs...and when i tried to pull up my main code,
  8. M$ Word told me that the file was corrupt!  I hardly EVER have such
  9. problems with the mac...anyhow, i needed another copy.  Well, thinking
  10. ahead of myself, i had set up my macintosh with a copy of Hermes ][ and
  11. loaded the files so i could log in and retrieve.  Unfortunately, my
  12. computer-illiterate mother was at home...i tried calling, but there
  13. was a slight snag.  and i had no way of telling her what was wrong (nor
  14. even guess what was wrong, although i have my suspicions).
  15.   Anyhow, i drove home (2 hour drive back and forth), uploaded my
  16. file to a FTP site of mine, and sent the message in an e-mail to myself.
  17. PLUS started Hermes ][ again and fixed what i thought was wrong.  Well,
  18. i got to school AND IT WAS CLOSED!!  (Closed early for xmas).  I was
  19. enraged beyond description.  
  20.   Back to the reason i wrote this:  I called home after 3:45pm (i had
  21. set the computer to shutdown at 3:30pm using the Star Trek clock).  the
  22. modem answered.  20 minutes later i tried again, and found it ringing...
  23. however, my mother told me that she found Hermes still running so she
  24. turned it off herself.
  25.   I was sick and tired of this.  So i wrote this program.  The original
  26. purpose is to launch an application at a certain time (ie Hermes at
  27. the time i should arrive at school) and shutdown the computer at a certain
  28. time (ie the time i should no longer need Hermes).  For a while i have
  29. been looking for a program like this...so i decided to write one.

  33.   This is WhoCaresWare.  I really wrote this for myself, and i didn't
  34. really see anyone else bothering to use it (much less pay me for it).  So
  35. I didn't add registration, lock-outs, etc. etc....all i ask is if you
  36. find this very handy, show me your gratitude.  ('Cides, this was pretty
  37. much a one-day project)
